Privacy policy

This page explains what data this site does and does not handle. The short version: your video files never leave your device.

1. Your video is never uploaded

All container parsing, decoding and block-level analysis happen inside your browser. This site has no upload endpoint — the server never receives, stores or processes your video. You can keep using it with the network disconnected.

2. What we do not collect

  • No video file, frame data or bitstream data is uploaded or stored;
  • No account is required; we do not collect names, phone numbers or identity information;
  • No file contents, file names or analysis results are collected during processing.

3. Local storage

The site stores exactly one preference in your browser's localStorage: mp4a.lang, remembering your interface language. It stays on your device and is never sent to a server. Clearing browser data removes it.

4. Advertising and cookies

This site displays ads through a third-party advertising service (Google AdSense) to support its ongoing operation:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites;
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet;
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or learn about third-party opt-outs at aboutads.info;
  • Users in the EEA, UK or Switzerland are asked for consent through a compliant consent management platform (CMP), which you may change or withdraw at any time;
  • Your video files and analysis results are never used for advertising or shared with ad providers.
  • Ad placements are manually specified by this site and appear only in content areas such as the bottom of a page — never covering or overlapping the analysis interface. Automated ad insertion is disabled.

5. Third-party resources

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers (including ordinary request metadata such as your IP address). Beyond that, this site runs no third-party analytics, embeds no social plugins and sets no tracking pixels.

6. Open source licensing

Analysis is built on FFmpeg (LGPLv3). As the license requires, the FFmpeg sources used by this project and the full license are published here.

7. Children

This site targets video engineering professionals, not children, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
