1. How to reach us

That is currently the only support channel. There is no phone support, and support requests are not handled on social platforms — keeping them in email is what makes them traceable with their full context attached.

2. Reporting a problem

If a file fails here, a number disagrees with another tool, or the interface misbehaves, including the following in one email usually makes it a one-shot diagnosis:

  • What happened — what you expected and what you actually got. If a value is wrong, state the value and which tool it came from;
  • File specs — container (MP4 / MOV), codec (H.264 / H.265 and profile), resolution, rough duration and file size. Pasting the Stream section of ffprobe output is ideal;
  • Browser and OS — browser name and version, operating system. On mobile, please name the device;
  • Error text — the wording shown in the interface. Production builds keep these strings, so the exact sentence points straight at the code path;
  • Screenshot — for visual problems (a heatmap or MV arrows in the wrong place) an image beats a description.

Please do not send the video file itself. There is no upload endpoint and we will not ask for your footage. The specs above are normally enough; if a sample really is required we will explain why and agree with you on how far it can be shared.

3. Feature requests

They are welcome. Please also mention what you do instead today — it helps us tell "this tool is missing a piece" apart from "you actually want a different tool". Some requests (AV1 block-level data, for instance) are limited by what the current decoders expose, and we will say plainly whether they are feasible and where the blocker is.

4. Commercial use and licensing

Analysis use by individuals and teams is free and requires no account. If you plan to embed MP4 Analyzer in your own product, internal pipeline or a customer-facing tool, or you need an explicit written permission statement, email us with the scenario first and we will tell you whether it is fine and under what conditions.

Note also that the analysis is built on FFmpeg (LGPLv3). If you redistribute anything derived from it, those license terms apply too — sources and license text are published here.

5. Data and privacy requests

There is no account and your files are not stored, so there is usually no personal data to look up or delete. Local storage, advertising cookies and third-party resources are described in the privacy policy. If you believe something on this site behaves differently from that description, email us and we will check and correct it.

6. Response time

This is a personally maintained project, not a 24/7 support desk. Replies usually go out within a few days, and much faster if your mail contains the reproduction details above. Confirmed issues get written into the FAQ, so the next person hitting the same thing can find the answer instead of waiting on a reply.
